Named for a former president, Adnan Menderes, the Izmir Airport has a comprehensive list of amenities. Passengers will find banks and currency exchange services, duty free shopping, and access to wireless internet. There are also plenty of cafes, restaurants and food kiosks to grab some food in. ADB is an international airport, but there are no direct flights from Australia to Izmir. There is a comprehensive mass transit system that services Izmir Airport. There is a convenient subway service on the North and South Lines that run directly to and from Izmir Airport from various neighbourhoods in the region.
Delighted to find the re-badged ex Crowne Plaza Wyndham Izmir hotel as before. Few changes in either personnel or layout and the helpful and cheerful attitude of all staff remains extant. Wi-fi appears to have been overhauled and improved although the unhelpful reception staff response of 'general problem' when the system drops out could be polished. Timings for SPA appointments and booked transportation should be looked at. Club rooms remain a significant cut above the rest although the morning coffee continues to be of poor quality.
